Quarantined with You

I remember the smile that lit up your face
When the governor told us to shelter in place
We always said, more quality time!
Looked forward to the touch of it
But never did we ever think
That there would be so much of it.
We always dreamed a future together
And now we’re getting a peek
I don’t remember you ever so snooty
Is sharing a space such a terrible duty?
Prince Charming was loved by his Sleeping Beauty
Up until this week.
• But of all the people I could
Share a gif with
Split a fifth with
Practice riffs with
Smoke a spliff with
Until our faces both turn blue…
There’s just no one
Under moon or sun
I’d rather be quarantined with
Than you.
Do we have to watch that show again,
With what’s-his-name, the actor?
It’s worse than those two lumberjacks
Building nuclear reactors
I thought we’d read some books together
Quiet time, so soothing
But maybe that’s no good for us
I can see your lips are moving
Okay, okay, I’ll smoke outside
Just holler through the fog
You used to LIKE my after-shave
And what did you feed that dog?
